Bicycles Unlimited Celebrates 40 Years of Serving The Cyclists of Southern Utah

Bicycles Unlimited’s commitment to serving the Southern Utah community reaches a big milestone this month as Mark McLaughlin, owner and founder, celebrates 40 years of business. To celebrate, Bicycles Unlimited will be offering sales of 15-40% off on select bikes and accessories from brands like Trek, Cannondale, and Bontrager. McLaughlin is proud to have watched the cycling industry and community grow after so many years.
“It’s been amazing to watch cycling and its technology evolve over the years,” said McLaughlin.
“I watched and was able to be a part of the introduction of the BMX, mountain, and triathlon
bike.”
McLaughlin started his journey into the world of cycling when he applied for a job at Larry’s
Spoke and Pedal while pursuing his education at Dixie College. When Larry decided to sell the
business, McLaughlin knew he had found his true calling and purchased the shop. McLaughlin
re-opened the store in April 1984 after a large remodel and inventory expansion.
“My goal with Bicycles Unlimited was to be just that. Unlimited,” said McLaughlin. “Rather
than care just a few niche models in a certain price range I wanted to offer bikes and accessories
accessible and fit for everyone.”
Ever since its opening Bicycles Unlimited has been happy to be a part of the cycling experience.
From children getting their first bike to pro riders preparing for the Iron Man, McLaughlin and
his team make providing the best service and quality to their customers a priority. Bicycles
Unlimited has also been a Best of Southern Utah medal winner for the past five years and is
hopeful to win again in 2024 when the winners are announced in the coming months.
Community involvement has also been a focus for Bicycles Unlimited. Bicycles Unlimited is a
proud sponsor of Crimson Cliffs High School’s mountain bike team and has supported the sport
and its riders from all schools for the past eight years. Bicycles Unlimited is also proud to offer
service to Red Bull mountain bike athletes like Reed Boggs and Ethan Nell along with Iron Man
competitors.

One of Bicycles Unlimited’s proudest features is its service department. Offering anything from
basic tune-ups and tire repairs to major tune-ups and part installs, Bicycles Unlimited and its
technicians do it all with employees like Nate Talbot and Jay Bartlet being fixtures for over 20
years. Bicycles Unlimited takes pride in offering an honest and fair repair experience to all of its
customers and is proud to continue as a part of the Southern Utah community.
