Charcoal Landscapes Workshop

The Washington City Arts Council is pleased to announce its February workshop on Saturday February 22 from 10am – 2pm. Come learn how to create charcoal landscapes where we will focus on how to use the charcoal medium in different ways such as value, texture and contrast, as well as effective composition.  Together we’ll unleash your creativity to craft modern landscapes that captivate the eye and ignite the imagination.

Instructor Michelle Kurtz, a seasoned artist with 20+ years of experience, is passionate about her role as an art instructor at Utah Tech University.  With an MFA in Painting and Drawing, she honed her craft at both Utah Tech University and Southern Utah University, teaching Drawing, 2D Design, and 3D Design.  Michelle’s classes are dynamic hubs of creativity, where students explore the depths of self-expression under her expert guidance.

All skill levels are welcomed at the workshop. Art supplies will be provided for participants.  The workshop is limited to 15 individuals, so register early to ensure your spot.  To register, or for more information, visit https://www.washingtoncityartscouncil.com/projects-1, or email washingtoncityartscouncil@gmail.com. The cost of the workshop is $40.

The workshop will be held at Arrowhead Gallery, 68 East Tabernacle Street, in St. George, Utah. This event is supported by Washington City RAP Tax.
