ST. GEORGE — Springs Park has a new playground and a date to celebrate.
Bring the kids and explore the upgraded space on December 2 at 4 p.m. during the Springs Park Grand Reopening (2395 E. Springs Drive). Open to everyone, this community park renovation is one of the many upgrades the City of St. George has completed as a result of the voter-approved Trails, Parks and Recreation General Obligation Bond (G.O. Bond).
“The new playground is something our community has been asking for,” said Shane Moore, Director of Parks and Community Services for the City of St. George. “It will be wonderful to see families enjoying this fun, welcoming space.”
Springs Park is an 11-acre neighborhood park located along the Virgin River and adjacent to Seegmiller Marsh. It offers a lighted half basketball court, children’s playground with swings, restroom facility and covered pavilion with picnic tables and a barbecue. There is also a walking path with bench swings that surround a large pond containing varieties of ducks and geese.
The new playground, built from wood to stay cooler in the summer months, features a tower with slides, a log scramble and swings. Along with the new playground are newly installed paths, landscaping and a stream that circulates through the area.
On December 2, there will be a brief program and refreshments will be provided, while supplies last.
After the measure passed in November of 2023, the G.O. Bond has allowed the City of St. George to designate up to $29 million in park and trail upgrades. Chart our progress here.
