Event gets started with Uncle Sam 4K at 6:30 a.m., followed by Parade
ST. GEORGE — The City of St. George invites residents and visitors to join in a full day of patriotic celebration July 4, featuring the Uncle Sam 4K, the city’s beloved 4th of July Parade, and a spectacular fireworks display to cap off the evening.
“On this Independence Day, we celebrate not only our nation’s freedom, but the strength of our community,” said Mayor Mayor Michele Randall . “When we gather as neighbors, we honor the values that built this country. Let’s stand together, proud of our past and committed to our shared future.”
The festivities kick off bright and early with the annual Uncle Sam 4K at 6:30 a.m. This fun run is designed for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Runners are encouraged to wear patriotic attire and enjoy the cooler morning temperatures while taking part in this energetic community tradition.
The 4th of July Parade will begin at 7:45 a.m. with the theme of “America 250.” It will feature a variety of local floats, community organizations, musical groups and more. Residents are encouraged to arrive early to secure prime viewing spots along the parade route. The route begins on Tabernacle Street at 100 West and heads east to Flood Street (400 East) before turning south. When it reaches Trailblazer Boulevard (300 South), it turns west and wraps around Vernon Worthen Park, finishing at 200 South.
“Grab your chairs, find the perfect spot and prepare to stir with patriotism as we come together to celebrate the Fourth of July,” said Aaron Metler, Recreation Coordinator. “This day reminds us of the freedoms we cherish and the community that makes it all so special. Let’s make memories, honor our nation and enjoy a celebration that brings us all closer together.”
In past years, the 4th of July Celebration included the Independence Carnival, a multi-day event at Town Square. This year, the carnival will take place at a cooler time of the year — Sept. 18-21 during the Dixie Days Celebration.
“While we won’t be holding the carnival this July, get ready for an exciting experience when the weather’s just right,” Mayor Randall added. “It will be unforgettable!”
The day concludes with a dazzling fireworks display, immediately following the 99.9 KONY Country 4th of July Celebration featuring Brett Young. This event lights up the night sky with a vibrant, patriotic show visible from multiple vantage points throughout the city.
