City of St. George’s annual State of the City address set for Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. inside Dixie Convention Center

St. George named No. 2 ‘Best Performing City’ according to Milken Institute; No. 10 ‘Most Dynamic Metro’ by Heartland Forward

ST. GEORGE — The accolades have been pouring in for the City of St. George. Within the last month, St. George was named the No. 2 Best Performing City by the highly respected Milken Institute, and No. 10 Most Dynamic Metro by Heartland Forward. Come see what is behind the plaudits on February 11 at 3 p.m. as St. George Mayor Michele Randall delivers the annual State of the City presentation at the Dixie Convention Center.

State of the City: Our Commitment to You will take place inside the Garden Room. There is no charge to attend the event and light refreshments will be available. State of the City can be watched live on the Community Education Channel’s YouTube page, as well the City’s Facebook page.

“We accomplished so much as a city in 2024 and have so many things planned for 2025 and beyond. This is our chance to show you,” Randall said. “Learn about all the exciting things happening in St. George as we share our commitment to you.”

Mayor Randall and her team will discuss the City of St. George’s accomplishments in 2024 and preview projects for 2025, broken down into the following discussion points:

  • Celebration of heritage
  • Responsible growth and infrastructure
  • Economic development
  • Activity and wellness
  • Accountable and accessible government
  • Public safety
  • Transportation
  • Community connections

In addition to the State of the City event, the Dixie Regional Transportation Expo will be in full swing down the hall at the Dixie Center, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Expo is free to attend, and will feature information regarding ongoing transportation developments from several Washington County cities, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and the Dixie Metropolitan Planning Organization. Attendees will have access to booths staffed by knowledgeable transportation specialists to provide detailed information and answer questions. 

This year, the Expo is spotlighting several new improvements, including Downtown St. George transportation enhancement on St. George Blvd. and South Bluff, improvements along I-15 and the new bus route to Zion National Park.
