Washington, UT — The Washington City Arts Council is excited to announce the upcoming “Expressions from the Sole” workshop, a unique hands-on art experience designed for teens to creatively express themselves through custom shoe painting. The event will take place on Thursday, June 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sullivan Park Fish Pond Pavilion in Washington, Utah.
Led by celebrated regional visual artist Mari Lopez, this inspiring workshop gives youth ages 13–19 the chance to transform their thoughts, hopes, dreams, and emotions into wearable works of art. Participants will hand-paint a pair of shoes or boots, guided by local artist mentors, and craft a brief personal narrative to accompany their creations—offering a full spectrum of self-expression.
Space is limited to 30 participants, and early registration is encouraged. The cost is $15 per participant, and attendees must bring their own pair of shoes or boots to customize. Registration is now open at: https://www.washingtoncityartscouncil.com/event-details/expressions-from-the-sole
This event is proudly sponsored by the Washington City Arts Council, with support from the Washington City RAP Tax, reinforcing a continued commitment to providing meaningful artistic opportunities for local youth.
