MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2 – 12 NOON: “THE LEGACY LECTURE SERIES”
Mr. William (Bill) A. Forsyth served as a Senior National Security Advisor and International Operations Program Manager for General Dynamics-IT (GDIT). With oversight for international program operations. He also served for 22 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) assigned to work in a variety of field offices around the United States, addressing mostly domestic and international terrorism matters. Mr. Forsyth was trained as a bomb technician specialist and WMD coordinator for the FBI and worked on over 25 major special events and major case investigations. A few of those major cases include: OKBOMB, UNABOM, CENTBOMB, and BORDERBOMB investigations. He served as a supervisory special event planner for the FBI during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was named as the Unit Chief/Watch Commander to the FBI’s 24/7 emergency operations center (SIOC) within FBI Headquarters, where he reviewed and approved the dissemination of sensitive investigative and operational information.
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 4 – 7:00 P.M.: “LECTURE ON THE SHIP BROOKLYN”
Presenter and international speaker on the subject of the Ship Brooklyn, Rebecca Ellefsen has researched, written and documented the journey of the Ship Brooklyn from New York City to California and draws connections between Brigham Young’s party crossing the plains in 1846, the Mormon Battalion and the Ship Brooklyn. These three groups had different responsibilities and one main goal – to establish Zion in the west.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 6 – 7:00 P.M.: “JANET FOLSTER ORGAN RECITAL”
Janet Folster joins us for an Organ Recital featuring selections by Bach, Handel, Meyerbeer, Careless, Sibelius, Bliss and Gigout. At age 8 she studied piano in Blackfoot, Idaho and at age 13 began organ studies. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Weber State and her Masters’ Degree of Music from Boise State on the organ. She comes from Meridian, Idaho where she has been a music leader in the community for many years, teaching and participating in the Idaho Music Teachers Association, Federated Music Club and American Guild of Organists.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14 – 7:00 P.M.: “CHRISTIAN ERICKSON”
21-year-old local Jazz & Blues Vocalist Christian Erickson will be singing many of the greatest love songs of the romantic crooners like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Michael Bublé, Nat King Cole, Harry Connick, Jr., Matt Munro, Bobby Darin and more. Christian just released his first single “Kissing A Fool” and has performed all over Utah and is a St. George City 2024 Star Search Winner and a Finalist for Dixie’s Got Talent, and Sing! Utah competitions.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27 – 7:00 P.M.: “SOUTHERN UTAH HERITAGE CHOIR”
The Southern Utah Heritage Choir presents its Spring Concert, “The Gift of Love,” at the St. George Tabernacle on Friday, February 27 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, February 28 at 2:00 PM. The program features inspiring sacred choral works celebrating love, faith, creation, and mercy. The Heritage Choir is known for its artistic excellence and heartfelt performances. This promises to be an uplifting musical experience for all ages.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28 – 7:00 P.M.: “The Heritage Choir” presents a repeat performance of their Spring Concert “The Gift of Love”.
