Notice is hereby given of the Application of Enbridge Gas Utah (“EGU” or“Company”) to Increase Distribution Rates and Charges and Make Tariff Modifications, as more fully described below.
- EGU is a division of Enbridge Inc., a Canadian corporation engaged in the
business of supplying energy services in several states including Utah. EGU is a public
utility subject to the Public Service Commission of Utah’s (PSC) jurisdiction under Utah
Code § 54-4-1. - On May 1, 2025, EGU filed an Application with supporting testimony,
exhibits, and revised tariff sheets requesting the PSC approve the Company’s revised
tariffs and proposals to implement rate increases for various classes of service (see
Paragraph 6, below). The request is based on an average 13-month forecasted test
period ending December 31, 2026 (“Test Period”). - If approved, the request would result in an annual increase, for a typical
residential customer using 70 Dths, of approximately $61 or 9.5 percent, beginning
January 1, 2026. - EGU states the request is primarily driven by capital expenditures and
related expenses, updated depreciation rates, and operating and maintenance costs
that have increased since its last general rate case, filed with the PSC in 2022. - EGU proposes to increase its authorized return on equity from 9.6
percent to 10.6 percent with a proposed capital structure comprised of 53 percent
equity and 47 percent debt. EGU bases its cost of debt of 4.25 percent in the Test
Period on the current rates of outstanding debt issuances. EGU requests/proposes an
overall authorized rate of return of 7.61 percent. - EGU’s proposed rate increases by rate schedule are found in EGU Exhibit
5.10, which you may review online at:

RateDesign.xlsx - EGU states it also proposes revisions to multiple sections of its tariffs to:
eliminate outdated provisions and reflect Company practices, delete or move
provisions or sections, clean up changes including rewording, referencing,
punctuation, formatting, and grammatical corrections. - This is not a complete description of EGU’s Application. You may review
