Record number of artists, wide variety of entertainment to highlight St. George Art Festival, April 18-19

ST. GEORGE —With warmer weather here at last, it’s the ideal time to get outside and connect with the community. And there’s no better way to do so than by celebrating the arts at the 2025 St. George Art Festival. Slated for Easter Weekend at Historic Town Square on April 18-19, the free Art Festival will feature a record number of artists displaying works in a variety of mediums.

Add in live music and entertainment — including two free evening concerts — food trucks and booths, a film festival, 5K race, dedicated children’s area and more, and the annual event is the perfect way to welcome Spring.

Nearly 200 artists from across the U.S. were accepted into the Art Festival. Awards will be presented to artists in multiple categories on April 18. Visitors can look forward to seeing (and purchasing) paintings, ceramics, sculptures, textiles, glassworks, photography, fine jewelry and more — carefully curated from hundreds of submissions.

“The excitement is building, and the City staff has been working tirelessly to make this year’s Art Festival the best ever,” said Peyton Lee, Community Arts Manager for the City of St. George. “We hope everyone will want to be a part of this treasured tradition.”

On April 18, the festival will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Then Tabernacle Street will get mellow with a performance by “Yachty By Nature,” whose take on ‘70s and ‘80s “yacht rock” favorites showcases hits from such artists as Michael McDonald, Hall and Oates, Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, Toto, Christopher Cross, and many others.

The festival continues on April 19 at 9 a.m. with the Art Attack 1-mile and 5K race, with original paintings by members of the Southern Utah Art Guild to be presented as awards. Artwork will be on display again at 10 a.m., concluding at 6 p.m. Then another free concert will be presented on Tabernacle Street featuring Overland Park, Kansas-based indie rockers The Greeting Committee, veterans of Lollapalooza and the South by Southwest conference and festival.

Other Festival activities on tap include:

●        Live entertainment on three stages scattered throughout Town Square.

●        Artwork from this year’s featured artist, Liza Compass, whose work spans music, songwriting, singing and acting, in addition to her “Dreamscape Realism” artistic explorations.

●        A creation station for the young, and the young at heart, offering 15 diverse crafts that bring artistic visions to life.

●        Food trucks and vendors preparing an array of international food and refreshments, situated by the west and Greater Zion Main stages.

●        The Art Attack 1 mile and 5K races, on Tabernacle Street April 19 at 9 a.m.

●        The Desertscape Film Festival, showing April 16-19 at the Electric Theater, bringing cinema-lovers together to enjoy indie films and filmmakers.
