St. George Museum of Art unveils new name and logo; Museum set to host new exhibits beginning September 6

ST. GEORGE — As the St. George Museum of Art celebrates its 35th anniversary, the institution proudly announces a major milestone in its evolution: a new name and brand identity that reflect its ongoing growth, expanded mission and commitment to excellence in the arts.

Formerly known under a more general title, the St. George Museum of Art now embraces a naming convention that aligns with esteemed institutions across the state and nation.

“This change marks a new chapter in the museum’s history,” said museum manager and curator Meagan Evans, “and reflects a renewed commitment to excellence in programming, curatorial practice and meaningful community engagement.”

In tandem with the new name, the museum also revealed a new logo. Designed to integrate the City of St. George’s current branding while honoring the museum’s historic architecture, the logo utilizes one of the two museum alcoves as a recognizable element that ties the institution to its civic and historical roots. The result is a cohesive and timeless emblem that reinforces the museum’s role as both a cultural and architectural landmark.

All marketing and branding updates have been led and implemented in-house by the museum’s team, KC Carter and Michelle Cole, in alignment with current city branding standards. On August 14, the St. George City Council voiced its support for the museum’s new direction and name, reinforcing the city’s commitment to arts and culture.

The museum is temporarily closed as it installs two dynamic fall exhibitions:

  • Selfie and the Soul: An Exploration of Accidental Art in the Digital Age by St. George-based artist Kirsten Holt Beitler
  • Heaven and Earth: Attached by One Pillar by artist Stephanie Leitch

On September 6, the museum will reopen with a special evening open house from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., featuring an Artist Talk with both artists at 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, with donations encouraged. Normal operating hours will resume Tuesday, September 9, with the museum open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
