ST. GEORGE — Quickly becoming a can’t-miss event to start the summer, the Firehose Frenzy 5K offers an enjoyable way to fight the rising temperatures. Taking place on Friday, June 7 at 9 p.m. at Desert Color (820 W Akoya Pearl Street), runners will delight as St. George Fire Department trucks spray them with water along the course.

Following the race, registered participants are invited to enjoy a pool party, water aerobics and a watermelon-eating contest at the Desert Color Lagoon.

“The Firehose Frenzy 5K really is the party of the summer,” said recreation coordinator Shakayla Allen. “It’s an experience the whole family can enjoy. You won’t want to miss the pool party and games after the run.”

Packet pickup is June 7 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Desert Color. All finishers will receive a medal.

A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the St. George Firefighters Association.

“Our firefighters are an integral part of our community serving as first responders, community helpers, and educators,” Allen added. “Sign up for the race and come meet our firefighters.”
