Tonaquint Nature Center set to host a night of family friendly fun, ‘sparking curiosity and connection’ on Sept. 22

ST. GEORGE — A beloved family tradition is making its annual return to St. George, offering a night full of outdoor learning and community engagement.

Tonaquint Family Night, hosted by the City of St. George Parks & Community Services department, will take place on September 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tonaquint Nature Center (1851 South Dixie Drive). Families can explore interactive booths, collect stamps for completed activities and enjoy a free hot dog dinner while supplies last.

“Tonaquint Family Night is all about sparking curiosity and connection,” said Hannah Keller, the Recreation Supervisor at the City of St. George. “Families aren’t just watching presentations; they’re interacting with booths, immersing themselves in nature and learning together in a fun, hands-on environment.”

The event fosters community connection and environmental education in a casual outdoor setting. Booths hosted by groups such as Zion National Park, Get Outside, Sand Hollow State Park and local nonprofits will feature activities highlighting Southern Utah’s wildlife, conservation and outdoor recreation.

“It’s a unique collaboration that brings together partners ranging from national parks to local nonprofits offering an opportunity to connect with our local nature and community resources all in one place,” Keller added.

Admission to this event is free – no registration or ticket purchase required.
