Dear Nonprofit Partners,
Our nonprofit partner breakfasts are one of my favorite opportunities to bring organizations from across Washington County together—to connect, share what we’re working on, and find ways to support one another.
For October, I’d like us to do something a little different.
Instead of gathering for our regular breakfast, I’m inviting all of our nonprofit partners to join United Way of Washington County for our Day of Caring on Saturday, October 17, as we come together to help Cherish Families create their new Serenity Garden in Hildale.
This is an opportunity for our nonprofit community to do what it does best: show up for one another.
The Serenity Garden is being created as a peaceful, welcoming outdoor space for the individuals and families Cherish Families serves. We have the plan, we have an incredible project, and now we need our community to help us bring it to life.
I’ve attached a one-sheet showing the plants, rock, landscaping materials, and other donations we are still working to secure. Please take a look and think about how you or someone in your network might be able to help. Maybe your organization can provide volunteers. Maybe you know a business that could donate materials. Maybe you know someone who would sponsor $100 toward the project. Or maybe you can simply forward the attached sheet to someone who might want to be part of making this happen.
And most importantly, we would love to have you and members of your organization join us and volunteer on October 17.
I know each of us spends our days focused on our own missions, programs, clients, and organizations. Day of Caring gives us a chance to step outside of those individual roles and work side-by-side on something that benefits another member of our nonprofit community.
That is exactly what I believe our nonprofit partnership should be about.
So for October, instead of sitting around a breakfast table together, let’s roll up our sleeves together.
United Way of Washington County – Day of Caring
Saturday, October 17, 2026
Cherish Families – Hildale, Utah
I’ll be sending additional information about volunteer times, transportation, and day-of logistics as we get closer. For now, please let me know if you or your organization would like to participate, and please share the attached donation sheet with anyone you think may be willing to help.
We have just a couple of weeks to pull everything together, and I know what this community can accomplish when we all pitch in.
Thank you for being part of this incredible network and for everything you do for Washington County. I hope to see a whole lot of familiar faces on October 17.
P.S. If you know someone who should be included on this email and isn’t, please invite them! We want Day of Caring to bring together as much of our nonprofit and community network as possible, and everyone is welcome to be part of making this happen.
Warmly,
