Washington Area Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Grand Opening of Let’s Play Music with Free Community Family Event

WASHINGTON, Utah — June 29, 2026 — The Washington Area Chamber of Commerce will welcome Southern Utah’s newest children’s music education studio with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and free community celebration on Monday, June 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Hosted by Let’s Play Music St. George, the family-friendly event invites the community to tour the new studio, enjoy free activities, and learn about research-based music education programs designed for children from infancy through age 12.

The celebration begins with an official Washington Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting at 9:00 a.m., recognizing the opening of a new locally owned business serving families throughout Washington County.

Adding to the significance of the event is a special appearance by Shelle Soelberg, creator of the internationally recognized Let’s Play Music curriculum, which has helped thousands of children develop musicianship through group music education. Families will have the opportunity to meet Soelberg, learn about the program’s unique philosophy, and experience interactive music activities firsthand.

The free community celebration includes:

  • Official Washington Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting
  • Meet & Greet with Let’s Play Music creator Shelle Soelberg
  • Bounce houses
  • Fire truck visit
  • Glitter tattoos
  • Hands-on music experiences for children
  • Studio tours
  • Giveaways and raffles, including a chance to win one year of free tuition
  • Information on free sample classes and upcoming fall enrollment

Let’s Play Music offers developmentally appropriate music education that combines singing, movement, ear training, rhythm, piano instruction, and music literacy in a fun, social environment. Programs are available for infants through age 12, including adaptive music classes designed to make music accessible to children with special needs.

“We’re honored to celebrate this milestone with the Washington Area Chamber of Commerce and the families of Southern Utah,” said Julie De Rurange, owner of Let’s Play Music St. George. “Our vision is to create a place where children discover the joy of music while developing confidence, creativity, and skills that benefit them for a lifetime.”

Community members are encouraged to attend the free event, participate in the festivities, meet local business leaders, and discover the educational opportunities now available at the new studio.
